1. For visa applicants
【Visa Application and Inquiries】
From August 1st, 2024, onward, the Consulate-General of Japan in Dubai will entrust VFS Global with the facilitation of the Japan visa application process. The Consulate-General of Japan in Dubai will no longer accept visa applications directly from August 1st, with the exception of Diplomatic and Official visa application.
For all inquiries related to visa applications, we kindly request that you reach out directly to VFS Global.

2. COVID-19: Current Japanese Border Measures
If you are boarding an aircraft arriving in Japan after midnight Japan time on April 29, valid vaccination certificate or pre-departure test is not required. (click)

3. Residence card (ZAIRYU-Card), Re-Entry Permit, Certificate of Eligibility
All foreign nationals with the status of residence (ZAIRYU-Card) with a valid Re-entry Permit, will not need to obtain a letter from Japanese Embassy/Consulate.
